The Feldenkrais International Training Centre (ITC) is the first training centre in the UK and one of the first training centres in Europe. It continues to attract students from all over the world. Its international staff is drawn from the most highly experienced Trainers and Assistants teaching the Feldenkrais Method today. The trainings are accredited by the European Training Accreditation Board of the International Feldenkrais Federation.

Garet studied with Moshe Feldenkrais in his final training, which took place in Amherst, MA in the US and in Tel-Aviv, Israel, from which she graduated in 1983. In 1994, she became one of the first Europe-based Trainers and the first resident Trainer in the UK.

Garet Newell co-directed the first Feldenkrais professional training programme in the UK, which began in London in 1987 and went on to establish the Feldenkrais International Training Centre in 1990. She has since directed twelve successful trainings in Sussex – in Lewes and in Ditchling and is Educational Director of the current trainings.

Over the years Garet has been invited to teach in training programs around the world. She brings this extensive experience and her innovative thinking to create and oversee the conceptual framework over the four years of each training. She is known for her clarity, caring and humor in her teaching.

Feldenkrais ITC runs two trainings concurrently. One is based in the village of Ditchling, set in the beautiful South Downs National Park, in East Sussex. The other is based in the historic town of Lewes also set in the South Downs National Park. Both venues have good access to a main train line with direct trains to London and international airports. Both training venues have easy access to the many walking paths of the South Downs, to the seaside city of Brighton and Hove, and the picturesque coast and villages of the south of England.
