IsFel, based in Milan, is starting its 11th Feldenkrais Professional Training Program. Italy's first training school, renowned for the great experience and the ability to renew its quality over time, the Institute is headed by Mara Della Pergola, the only Italian to have trained directly with Moshe Feldenkrais during the Amherst Training in 1980-83. She has been practicing and teaching the Method for 40 years and she coordinates a great team including some of the most experienced and internationally known trainers. With their diverse educational backgrounds and professional experiences, they will help train a new generation of teachers prepared to work in a variety of areas.
The training provides:
-Practice in small groups
-Individual tutoring and feedback to ATM teaching and FI practice
-More than 300 ATM
-12 individual FI lessons
-Audio recordings of all lessons
-ATM teaching authorization after the second year
-Traineeship and final project in fields of personal interest
-Moshe Feldenkrais videos
-Professional translation
-Extensive bibliography
In addition to the traditional and internationally recognized Feldenkrais Training program, the Milan 11 course includes an additional training based on Mara Della Pergola's book Lo Sguardo in Movimento. Arte, trasformazione e Metodo Feldenkrais (Vision in Motion. Art Transformation and the Feldenkrais Method). It provides interesting opportunities to reflect on the relation between the Method and various forms of art, as well as an in-depth study of the Method's scientific confirmations through the participation of experts.
Milano 11 lasts 3 and a half years divided into segments of 5 to 12 days, usually coinciding with holiday periods. Some classes will take place online also to facilitate the participation of those who are off-site. Classes are taught in Italian or English with professional translation. Spring and fall segments take place in Milan, while summer ones are held in Asiago, a beautiful mountain resort that offers countless sports and recreational activities. Asiago is close to several cities renowned for art and culture such as Venice, Vicenza, Verona and Padua. This makes it possible to combine the pleasure of learning with a pleasant use of the free time.
